It's six months since your son's university graduation and that was the last speech that you gave.  Not that interest has died down, but you felt uneasy spending so much time reliving the past instead of thinking about the future.  You decided to have the business unit heads take turns giving the speeches - good exposure as an input to succession planning, and they enjoy it.  For your part, you've been having monthly sessions with your team about finding and pursuing the next big thing.  It isn't clear yet whether you'll need to build it or buy it, but every option that you've investigated has given you more and different insights into what could be possible - when you are ready and the time is right.  Each member of the team has a piece of the puzzle to work on, and they really look forward to these opportunities to get together and see how it is coming together. Interestingly, while you haven't found the next big thing yet, you have stumbled across great solutions to some current problems while on the search.
